In the middle of this week, on a Wednesday or a Thursday, I may be mistaken about the day (a lot of time has passed), I went to the store to buy a pack of chicken eggs, one tomato, and two cucumbers for dinner before the upcoming evening event. It was around 5:30 p.m., and in front of the store, I saw two young and attractive volunteers, a man and a woman, holding signs for United Russia. For those who may not be familiar with the term, United Russia is a political party in Russia. I approach them, and they greet me warmly and offer to take my suggestions for the people’s program.
What is the people’s program?
As of July 24, 2026, citizens are actively participating in the development of the new People’s Program of United Russia. According to Dmitry Medvedev, the party’s chairman, almost 3 million initiatives have been submitted so far.

Based on the submitted proposals, the final provisions of the program are planned to be formulated. Some of the topics that were mentioned in the context of the initiatives:
- development of the regions;
- support for the special military operation fighters and their families;
- development of the country’s logistical and transport sovereignty;
- small-scale mobile energy for remote areas;
- strengthening support for scientific and technical policy in the defense industry;
- development of urban environments, transport, and social infrastructure;
- ensuring uninterrupted supplies of weapons and fulfilling the state defense order.

What I voted for
I wrote in the ballot that the development of new regions is a priority, and we already live well here.
A woman came up. And somehow incomprehensibly, chaotically and loudly swearing. Now I can’t even convey the meaning.
Calmed down the volunteers, kissed the girl’s hand, bowed, shook the guy’s hand firmly, smiled and they had their work again.
What’s interesting and I was thanked in return. They gave me a newspaper and a small roll.
What I liked
It’s been a while since I’ve read a newspaper, and I’ve almost forgotten how to do it. So, I decided to take a look. I noticed a list of initiatives:
- Working with the younger generation;
- Healthcare for individuals;
- New neighborhoods and housing for families.
It seems interesting, but I could be wrong.

It’s an interesting and unexpected event. Reader, my friend, I humbly ask you to please support the volunteers and not criticize them like that woman did. They are doing the right thing, they have their whole lives ahead of them, they are our future, and we should treat them with love and respect. But if you don’t want to, that’s fine, I accept it. Just forgive me, because this rhetoric is very close to going beyond the editorial policy, or maybe it already has. Sorry.
