I won’t teach you, I’ll just tell you my story. He who listens listens.
I already have an adult daughter. I helped her with my tiny monetary transactions, however, it burdened me financially. I understood that she should have been separated already and it would only benefit her. However, I didn’t know how to do it. And it burdened me spiritually. At the same time, I didn’t fully understand what exactly was going on in our father-daughter relationship.
And that’s what happened.
I went to a shoe shop recently. I’ve already punched holes in belts twice in this workshop so as not to buy new ones. And I saw that there was an ironing board with an iron. And now I had to iron my kimono to fight. So I went in there.
A strict and honest woman works there. Reminds me a lot of my late mother. She talked to me, listened to me. And she advised me in a motherly way to just take and disconnect my daughter from myself, stop paying her unearned money and tell her that she always has a roof over her head and food, and let her earn the rest.
At first, I felt uncomfortable, an internal struggle rebelled. However, I decided to do as she advised. And at work, I was supported by my friend, which gave me more strength. That same evening, I informed my daughter that from now on, I would only provide her with a roof over her head and food, and she would have to earn the rest. My wife didn’t support me. You can understand that she has a maternal instinct, but she loves, respects and always supports her husband, which is very rare, and I understand this perfectly well and for which I am extremely grateful to her. Because of our warm relationship, my wife accepted my position.
And what do you think happened? Something strange has happened!
Less than a full week has passed, last night I saw both my daughter and my wife in high spirits and learned the following.
My daughter found a job in a bank. Although I had been suffering for a long time before that. There, she was first put in initial contact with clients and given a small salary. I even noticed one evening how she came in and just fell asleep from exhaustion. I didn’t ask her, but I don’t think she even had dinner. But this is just the beginning.
Then she came to her new boss and said that she was very tired and was not satisfied with it. So what? She was given another position, an intellectual one, with no need to deal with clients, many of whom are energy-hungry. Interestingly, she was also given a decent salary. I, for one, am unable to provide her with such a monthly allowance, and she is well aware of this. This has improved her mood and self-esteem, as she knows that she is on the path to freedom. I am also pleased, as I understand that she is finally beginning to reject me as her father in the world, as her true father is the One who is the Father of all.
However, there is another important point here.
The most important thing is that she was honest with herself and acted accordingly. She didn’t throw tantrums or argue with anyone. We had previously discussed this with her, and she understood the importance of acting in a responsible and compassionate manner. She approached her superiors and requested her resignation. She didn’t run away and showed her willingness to complete the required work. Her actions were characterized by honesty and empathy. And thus, according to our common understanding, she came under the protection of the Lord. And it was He who took care of her. This greatly pleased me yesterday, which is why I am writing. We have been discussing this topic for a long time.
We have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to explain everything to everyone. And it is not possible to tell everything to everyone. However, we must show respect, understanding, and love to everyone. However, when emotions are strong, she must be honest with herself. Not everyone will understand her. However, there is no need to be afraid of this, we just need to accept that we will be scolded and cursed for this. But this reaction of people is only the result of the sinfulness of all people, not just her. And who is without sin!? In general, we are all just dust, we came from there and we will go there. And we need to live, and only those who are truthful, first of all to themselves, and therefore to God, can live well.
